We offer offset printing fueled by respect for the environment. California Graphics has begun a quest to lessen our impact on the environment—for us and for our children’s future.

Our quest is off to a clean start! Interestingly enough, by going greener, we haven’t lost our high quality, our fast turnarounds, or our reliability, which are why our customers come to us in the first place. What we did since then is make Al Gore smile!

Chemistry-Free Platemaking

We make our printing plates with a thermal platesetter running chemistry-free plates. This means that our plates require no chemical processing. That reduces waste and eliminates prepress steps.

Waterless Printing Free of Dampening System Chemicals

We've been printing waterless—realizing its' environmental benefits—since 1988. No water in our press means no dampening system chemicals. That translates to a safer and healthier environment.

Recycled Paper Choices

Going green doesn't mean you don't have choices. We offer a wide range of recycled papers. Whether you're looking for partially recycled or 100% recycled content manufactured without the use of chlorine or chlorine derivatives, we've got what you need.

Soy-Based Inks

Soy-based inks are used in our pressroom because they contain lower levels of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) than traditional inks. Less VOCs make them a more environmentally friendly choice. Plus, reusing and recycling unused inks is regularly practiced.

100% Wind Generated Power

Renewable energy is at the forefront of proposed solutions for the world's environmental issues. Fully 100% of our electricity comes from wind generated power purchased through 3Degrees. Our workstations, servers, prepress, pressroom, bindery—in fact, our entire shop—is fueled by reliable and sustainable wind-generated power.
